Building Information
The original date of the construction of this bridge is unknown. A bridge already appears in this location on map of Jinci (Jinci zhitu 晋祠之图) included in the Taiyuan gazetteer by Gao Ruxing 高汝行, from 1551. According to the twentieth-century account by Liu Dapeng 劉大鵬, legend has it that in the past, on the 14th day of the 4th month, transcendents meet on this bridge. This structure is number 40 on our plan of the site.1
