Note

    Literally meaning “jump” or "step," in Yingzao Fashi (1103) the term tiao is used to refer to either horizontal bracket arms (gong 栱) or slanted bracket arms (ang 昂) projecting perpendicularly from the wall plane. One tiao refers to one outward projection, and there can be up to five projections in a bracket set.5

    在《营造法式》(1103) 中是斗栱做法術語，即指挑出栱或昂。挑出一层，称一跳，最多至五跳。5
